One of the first things that caught my attention about this book was the cover.
It shows the battered, worn hands of someone who might be homeless.
It was a powerful example of what is to come, even before you read a single page.
Pastor Rasmus, of Houston, gives a street-level view of what it means to love those who seem unlovable.
One of the great things about this book is how rudy shows us how the love of God changed his life along with the lives of the members of his church.
We get to watch how Rudy’s life is transformed from a mess to a miracle.
At every step he took, God was there to meet him and give him the grace to carry on.
The more Rudy received, the more he wanted to give away to touch every person he came in contact with the love and mercy of Christ.
Touch is an incredible, true story.
It also shows how biblical principles can be lived out.
Rudy and his church personalize the scriptures.
They show that, in spite of life’s challenges, the church should be willing to throw a lifeline to help others who are less fortunate.
If you are considering buying this book, don’t just do it because it has a cool cover.
Don’t just do it because Pastor Rudy is Beyonce’s pastor (for real).
Don’t even do it because you’re looking for a cool story.
Get this book to experiences God’s grace through the eyes of a man who longs to see the least of these, Touched by the love of God.
Yes!! I am back!!
That’s right, I am back from my blog-fast (not a moment too soon).
So much has happened over the last 2 weeks.
Most of all, I really got a chance to hear from God.
I’ll fill you in on the details later on.
In the meanwhile, I will be resuming my JumpStarts next Monday.
Also, look for more inspirational posts. God has really given me a burden to change peoples lives.
The more I live, the more I realize important it is open and transparent.
I want people to know that I don’t live some “mistake-free” kind of life.
There have been many times that I should have listened to people (like my wife) and I didn’t.
There also have been time when I listened and I should have kept on pushing.
Starting next week I will be on a blog fast for the rest of the month.
This means no posting and no reading.
I want my mind to be clear to hear what my Father is saying to me.
There are some important decisions that need to be made concerning me and my family.
I don’t want to screw this up.
There is too much at stake.
I can’t believe that Terrence is 19!! (am I old??)
His mom and I are very proud of him and we are looking forward to great things from him.
He has just started college and he wants to be a psychologist (hmmmm!)
He has a great personality and a very compassionate heart.
I know God has some great plans in store for him.
