How would Jesus vote? Is an interesting book.
I found it a tad bit difficult to read, but it was full of information.
This book was an interesting take on the Christian view of voting.
It focused, not on the particular candidates, but, on the issues.
Normally we hear about the standard issues of abortion and gay rights.
The authors also spoke about immigration and poverty.
On the immigration point, it is interesting that they talked about this issue but not the racism that continues to exist in our nation.
Still separate but equal?
The book makes it seem like this election is the most important in the history of our country.
Why is that?
What is it that makes all the other elections so non-important?
God has been/will always be concerned about His creation – US not U.S.A.
We should let our personal relationship with Christ reflect our voting habits.
We have a chance for our voices to be heard.
Pray. Consider. Pray. Read. Pray. Vote.

This is exactly what I am praying that we will hear/see from the school districts in my city.
Too many children are falling through the cracks of mediocracy and failure.
We have come to expect too liitle from our schools and our children.
It’s probably due to us expecting little from ourselves and our God.
“They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.”
Psalm 145:7
Today is a day to celebrate.
It is a brand new occasion to feel good and to expect great things.
In spite of the challenges that you will face today, take some time out to celebrate.
You may celebrate by wearing that favorite outfit that you have in your closet.
You also may celebrate by playing that song that makes you want to dance whenever you hear it.
Whatever you need to do to enjoy this day, you need to do it.
God has created this moment in time for you not to be depressed and blue, but to rejoice at the fact that you were given another day on this earth.
Don’t take for granted this opportunity.
Don’t let situations and circumstances keep you from celebrating.
Don’t let people overwhelm you with their problems.
Choose to celebrate. Choose to make yourself happy. Choose to live.
Father, thank you for giving me many reasons to celebrate. Thank You for being able to look in the mirror and see the wonderful person that you have created. Help me to show others that they also have a reason to celebrate. As I go forward into my day, help me to remember that this and every day, should be celebrated. I rejoice in Your love and kindness toward me. Amen.
With all this election-talk brewing like crazy, it has really made me think about change.
Sure, a new president promises a lot and sometimes does a lot, but I’m thinking about REAL change.
The girl who has little or no self-esteem. She thinks that her body is what makes her valuable.
The guy who wants to be/look/act like a thug. The tougher he appears the more MANLY he is.
The family that buys more than they can afford in order to LOOK successful.
People are desperate for change.
Not presidential change but LIFE-change.
Change that only God can deliver.
I am sick of the status-quo in the Christian community.
We are the ones that have been given the power to trample on snakes and serpents.
We are the ones who have been given the keys to the Kingdom.
We are here to make a difference.
