turning the world to Christ

book of the month

Posted by dturn on June 10, 2006

I chose The Immortality of Influence as my book of the month mainly because it has inspired me to continue to make a difference in the lives of people that I come across and especially those I have the privilege of ministering to.

The author, Salome Thomas-El, provides an inspirational and thought-provoking guide to how we can encourage and stimulate young people to achieve their dreams.

It is particularly interesting to see how the influence we have on a child is not just for today, it is for a lifetime. This influence can then flow through that child into someone else who needs uplifting.

Mr. Thomas-El has been a teacher and administrator in the Philadelphia school system since 1987. He has inspired countless children to succeed in spite of many obstacles. This is his second book. His first, I Choose to Stay, is also a tremendous read.

I think that this book is great for anyone interested in making a difference in a child’s life. Whether you are a teacher, preacher, or a parent, this book will give you some insight into the power we have to influence.

May God give us the wisdom to use it.
