Sexy Back

Posted by dturn on December 20, 2006

In a report that came out today, 9 out of 10 Americans has had pre-marital sex. The study’s author said that this shows that pre-marital sex is the norm in todays society.

NORMAL??

What this studies fails to say is how the 90% are more likely to have a sexually transmitted disease, have a broken heart, end up getting divorced, or have a soul-tie that only can be broken by the power of God.

Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16). When we misuse the temple, you can’t have a good result.

It’s time to bring back sexual purity into our society.

The best kind of sex is the way God planned it.

perfect love

Posted by dturn on December 19, 2006

Racism is rooted in selfishness and insecurity. These 2 things are basically works of the flesh. Racism can only be wiped away by the power of Christ. By allowing His love to spread from our hearts, racism can be done away with.

Perfect love removes sin. His love is the most powerful force that you can imagine.

I never say that “I don’t see color, I don’t see you as a white person“. We are NOT colorblind. We should be able to celebrate the fact that although we come in different colors and shapes, we are all one in Christ.

The Christian community must take the lead on this thing. We are the ones who hold the key. The government can’t fix it. More money won’t fix it.

It has to come from us.

“Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”

Matthew 6:12

Unforgiveness is one of the most crippling things a person can experience. God has given us the ability and the mandate to forgive those who have wronged us. It doesn’t matter who they are or what they have done to you. Forgiveness is still required.

I am sure that there are things that have hurt you deeply. Sometimes people have hurt you intentionally, sometimes it’s an accident. Sometimes the moment was so long ago that the person forgot what they did. It may even be that the person has died before you could tell them that they are forgiven.

Forgiveness is not easy but it is necessary for growth. The longer you live in unforgiveness, the longer you will be stuck at the same level in life. Jesus said that we must forgive if we want to receive God’s forgiveness (Matt. 6:14-15).

Forgiveness is an act of obedience and faith.

When you forgive it’s like letting go of a weight that has been keeping you from getting to where you  want to go.

As you let it go you’ll see that you will become more effective for the Kingdom and you will be able to share the love of God freely.

“Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies”

Nelson Mandela

Don’t hold on to resentment and unforgiveness. Forgive and watch God work a miracle in your life and someone else’s.

make a difference

Posted by dturn on December 13, 2006

It’s amazing to note that Sunday mornings are still he most segregated time in our country. We can work together, play sports together and eat together but we can’t celebrate Jesus together.

The sometimes invisible lines of racism are evident in many cities across America. There are subtle reminders that we aren’t too far from life in the 60’s.

There needs to be a movement that brings together all of God’s people to show the world that we have the answer on being diverse yet loving and happy. We can’t be afraid to mingle with someone of a different race or nationality. The color of our skin is not as important as the condition of our hearts.

If you are in the midwest (Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana) and you want to hook up on this topic, email me at dturn@sbcglobal.net .

hazards to reaching your goals

Posted by dturn on December 11, 2006

Lack of precise focus

The inability to stay focused is a major deterrent to achieving success in any area of life. Successful people maintain a positive focus no matter what is going on around them. They are constantly proactive in the pursuit of their chosen objectives.

To obtain your goal you need to know exactly what it is you want. You need to be able to define it down to the minute detail.

You should be able to visualize it and then make it become a reality.

Distractions will come. It’s what you do when they arrive that will determine your success. If you center yourself on the path to your dreams and keep your focus, you will be able to achieve the greatness you desire.
