Oprah goes to Africa

Posted by dturn on January 2, 2007

Oprah has opened a school for girls in South Africa. She seems like she is genuinely interested in improving the lives of children in the impoverished areas of that country.

I wonder what it would take for us to have that same concern here in the states. Our children (black, white, Hispanic, etc.) are being inundated with junk through the media about how to dress and act. Our young boys and men don’t value the lives that God has given them. Our young girls and ladies present themselves as just a pair of boobs or a round behind. They have no idea that they are chosen vessels.

When will it be a priority in the church to minister to the needs of our children?

It’s about time.

chase some lions

Posted by dturn on January 2, 2007

I am really excited about the new possibilities that will come my way in 2007.
I want to really make an IMPACT this year.
I am ready to chase lions. Is that crazy or what? (I hope so).
Although it is safe to stay in my comfort zone, it’s also boring.
I feel like my faith isn’t being stretched at all, I need a God-given challenge.
I need to go for it.
What am I waiting for?
