take a chance

Take a chance

Take a chance on loving someone who is unlovable.

Take a chance on serving those who are castaways.

Take a chance on showing mercy to someone who really deserves a kick in the butt.

Take a chance on redeeming something that looks worthless.

God gave His best so that He could get us in return.

Take a chance

freaky friday: Anna Nicole Smith, Tim Hardaway and The Police

Posted by dturn on February 16, 2007

After all the drama this week with Anna Nicole’s body, Tim Hardaway’s mouth and the Police reunion, I thought that it would be great to end the week on a good note.

After all, I think that all the men coming out saying that they slept with Anna Nicole is pretty sick.

Tim Hardaway’s hateful comments about gays is pretty sick.

Did I mention the Police…

Thank God for His love and grace to cover all the stupid, sick things that we do.

When I think about all the ridiculous things I have done (or thought) and how He loves me still, I’m amazed.

Forgiveness is a beautiful thing.

Carlos Whittaker

Los is a great example of a man of God. Not only does have a great blog, he also is a worship leader, husband and father. As a matter of fact, he and his wife recently adopted their son (welcome to the world of boys Los). I am always encouraged and inspired when I read his posts and listen to his podcasts (Ragumuffin Soul).

Amena Brown

Amena is an incredible spoken-word artist. She has the inate ablity to paint vivid pictures with her words. If you want to feel inspired and empowered, look her up.
I’m looking forward to the day that I can invite her to my neck of the woods to inspire the masses.

Urban D

Urban D is not only a tremendous holy hip-hop artist, he is also the pastor of Crossover Church in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Through his leadership, Crossover has come to be known as the pre-eminent holy hip-hop church. They are reaching this current generation with the truth of God’s word. They are being effective ministers of the gospel by showing how to have an authentic relationship with Christ.
Big ups to Urban D. I hope to get down to FlavorFest this fall.

tired

I’M TIRED OF RELIGION!!

I’m tired of so-called Christians loading people down with rules and regulations, telling them to jump through hoops to reach God.

Instead of relationships, we have developed methods and formulas for Christianity.

God wants an authentic connection with us.
Let us not confuse our deeds with what He has done.

He’s not here!!!

Religion and tradition have taught us that to find God you have to go to church.
Sure, He’s at a lot of churches on Sunday morning, but thts not where He LIVES!!

He lives in the hearts of His children.
You can meet Him in the middle of the desert.
You can talk to Him at home.

Lets not get caught up on where He is.
Besides, the church isn’t a building.

It’s you and me
