football

It’s football season again.
In my house that means games every Friday And Saturday night until November.

Growing up football was my 2nd favorite sport behind basketball.
I love the teamwork and dedication of football teams.
No matter how talented an individual is the team won’t win if they don’t work together.
Everyone has a part to play that is important in being successful.

I wonder why the church-at-large has such a problem with this concept.
Are we too concerned with our egos to help each other out?
We are on the same team aren’t we??

We need to advance into the enemies side of the field to score for the Lord.

That’s NOT fantasy football either.

I’m going to pay a visit to the Yellow Box this weekend.
Community Christian Church has made a definite impact on my life and I am looking forward to checking out their celebration services.

I can’t say enough about Dave, Jon, Pat and the rest of the gang at CCC for helping to push me further in my quest to start a church that will make an IMPACT.

I write about my visit early next week.

I believe that I am part of a emerging movement that reproduces itself.
I believe that this movement is going to shake the earth to its very core.
No more doing church as usual.
Now is the time for the love of God to cover the earth.

It starts in one heart, one family, one community.

stats

I recently read about how there are fewer people who go to church now than ever before.

I also noticed that the number of adults who did not attend church nearly doubled from 1991 to 2004.

Also, if the present trends continue, the percentage of the population that attends church in 2050 will be almost half of what it is today.

Sounds like a great reason to make an IMPACT.

What’s worse, dying at a young age or living to be 100 and never really living at all?

eternal consequence

Posted by dturn on August 20, 2007

This morning I was just considering what I do and what I say.

My words and actions can affect people and their destiny.
Not just now but forever.

It can almost be like a permament marker.
I want to make a mark that can never be erased.

I want to mark people with the possibilities of life.

Mark them for greatness.
Mark them for victory.
Mark them for purpose.
